Element: Prepare for transport operations
  • Operational requirement is analysed to establish scope of transport support
       
Element: Operational or organisational constraints are recognised and transport tasks are planned to align with these constraints
       
Element: Considerations for planning vehicle movement and tasking are applied to derive most efficient employment of transport assets and personnel
       
Element: Logistics information systems are utilised to monitor and coordinate transport support operations and to inform decision making process
       
Element: Transport requests are received and analysed, and transport plan is developed
       
Element: Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements and recognised safety precautions are applied throughout operation in accordance with standard procedures
       
Element: Load to be carried is assessed and appropriate safety measures applied.
       
Element: Plan for the transport convoy movement is developed, including a threat assessment

  • Route is planned in accordance with route distance, geography, operational and technical considerations and distributed to relevant stakeholders

Element: Preparation, movement and use of vehicles is monitored to ensure road transport is conducted with appropriate authority and effectively employed, in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
       
Element: Maintenance integrity of transport assets is monitored to ensure assets are available for support tasks

Element: Liaison with agencies involved in operation is carried out to ensure most effective coordination of effort
